Getting started with hay, a kickstart and an electric start.

Where do I start?
This website will embody love, respect, kindness and hopefully – wisdom.  It is my adventure told from the seat of my beautiful old motorcycle.

There will be people from many lands with great stories and adventures of their own to share. There will be music in several languages and many styles of dance. There will be joy and laughter. There will always be great food and sharing. And of course underlying all this is Freedom.
Yours in love and laughter, Vernon.
Oh a post script just for you …

What within me triggered the desire to create such a great and wild adventure? Spirit, curiosity?
When did it start?
What is my quest on this journey? Through this lifetime? Through a thousand lifetimes? What do I wish to express?

I recall being born and the call to action when I came into this world! It was aha! Let me at em’! Later on I knew I had to forget then struggle to remember. This made me a local.

A few sunrises and sunsets later I was herding cattle on foot and in a moment of revelation I stopped in my tracks to observe all things around me!  I realized I was only seeing the tip of an iceberg – there was so much more going on around me and within me than I could see or comprehend. This moment has stayed with me always and has created a passion for learning, a desire to understand, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and the wisdom to express all that I have learned through many lives.

A few years later I discovered the beauty of horses and the freedom they provided.

After that came my first mini-bike and then followed by a DT100 Yamaha Enduro. I rode it solo ‘everywhen’ and everywhere that I could. Aha! The motorcyclist was born.

Years later I bought my first big street bike. It was a fast cruiser (V65 Honda Magna) and I loved the new freedom it provided. Aha! The Traveller was born.

The bike was fast and I could wheelie at 60 mph. Aha! The Showman was born.

I also considered starting and hosting my own tv show. It would consist of interviewing people randomly on the street and asking just 1 question. How can you and do you improve life on earth? Just that one question. This is also part of my adventure. It is a question I embody.

Back pedal to my teens and a love for music was developing. Music was my saving grace in some bumpy confusing teenage years. Eventually (years later) I picked up a guitar and started playing and singing. I purchased a shower radio with a mirror so I could shave, sing and dance in the shower!

Pedal fast forward to my current ride. It is a limited edition anniversary Road Star Silverado. There were 300 of them made world-wide. Mine is #10 and it is the most comfortable bike I have had the pleasure of riding.
My dear pal Fred helped me find it in a one-man motorcycle shop. That story in another post. The photo is taken from the outside of the showroom window on New Years Day.

I wanted to take my guitar with me on long trips (it gets lonely without it). I looked hard and long for a good way to carry my guitar but the results were dismal. Loosing at least a third of my luggage capacity was not going to work at all!  Aha!  The need for a trailer was born. It took me 2 years to find one that suited me. It was made in Canada (Ontario). It fit my guitar perfectly with room for camping gear and dance shoes ( I dance a lot of ballroom, latin, swing and A. Tango).

A few years later I found my favourite over-size classical guitar – beautiful lovely sound! But alas it was too big for the trailer. So there is another story coming on finding the guitar, cutting a gaping hole in my beloved trailer to make it all work and how a great friend (Shawn) helped me find a solution. VB

All photos taken by me, or a close friend on a ride. The cowboy photo is me a few birthdays back. I borrowed 1 photo off the internet of the DT100. I never took any photos of my first motorcycle.
